All my news and thoughts - even when they are silly

I didn't think I would be this year but I am leaving to go to foreign shores - Yorkshire! Wahoo
basically the story is that Brendan's sister lives there with her hubbie- an Amos brearly type of person- and Brendan's father has bought them a computer but they need it set up- so Brendan said we'd go over and do it.

now of course I know there are easier ways to do this but lets not talk abut that
anyway we are getting a big boat over with the baby and staying in a b&b there- neither of us wanted to stay with them- so should be fun-I want to see the Yorkshire dales
i'm actually really looking forward to it
cos this way we go to old York this year and new York next year

in other news- I went shopping on Saturday- but I needed everything I bought
got new pair of black trousers- which are "regular" i.e. for height 5' 4" - 5'6" - however even with heels these are long and skimming the floor

also got another pair of jeans from marks- so comfy but these are shorter than the others -perfect for wearing with trainers and the others I will wear with boots- speaking of boots we come to the piéce de résistance of the shopping trip- got the most gorgeous dark red boots in Clarks- they are seriously lovely- cant stop wearing them- not too high cos otherwise couldn't walk but feel very tall in them anyway

did lots of walking and hiking on Sunday- went swimming in the sea first thing and then we walked all around dalkey hill- was wrecked afterwards- am monumentally unfit

made rice krispie cookies last night- had to mix in the blender as have yet to buy a proper mixer- must do!!!

went home last weekend and house was a mess- mummy got a new range and finally installed it- its dark green but instead of putting it in the alcove where it was previously she has it sticking out more which looks funny but I'll get used to it- there is so much rubbish and debris around form this

anyway dogs are doing good- Sammie looked particularly healthy

my cousin married honor Coffey last week - mam went to the wedding and said it was lovely and had a great time- still I hate the idea that that bitch now has the same name as me- anyway bygones

back in Dublin nothing much happening- was off sick on Tuesday- tummy and spent day reading

made fantastic meatballs - such a good chef

went swimming in the sea last night not as cold as you would think

went to see Ned Kelly - its not great - I felt it really lacked something- don't know what- not even the lovely orlando bloom could make up for it

went to see the new irish/colin farrell film - intermission- it is so funny - absolutely hilarious much better than american so called comedies- its so true about dublin
colin is a complete dublin trackkie knacker and a lot of the usual irish faces pop up in it- but still highly recommended

the best bit is the tutting girl in the shop- u'll understand when u see it
last Saturday we went to Siam Thai- I had my usual fare and I cant ram what Bee had but he enjoyed it- ordered so much and was then full and drunk- when they asked bee did he want a complementary drink he ordered a baileys - for me- but only so as to ensure that my resistance was weakened and he could have his wicked way

Sunday was spent at the zoo- I know this is huge turnabout for me but it was great- did get slightly upset when on of the orang-utans was inside from the others but recovered- they've made lots of improvements and although its still not ideal for all animals, until we humans stop thinking that we can keep on destroying the planet without consequences, then the zoos are here to stay

saw a beautiful baby tiger cub who happened to born on my birthday- she was rejected by her mum but is doing well anyway and her mum is pregnant again - they passed so close it was really exhilarating- they probably wanted some meat and I would have gladly have thrown a number of the people in to them

the feeding of the sea lions was great- there was a huge one- couldn't get over the size of him
speaking of size brendy was suitably impressed with the size of the gorilla's privates- mozaltov

didn't spend much time in with the bats but Brendan took over 200 photos so i'm sure I will see them

overall it was well worth it- next time we'll have a kiddie with us -

am going home this weekend to see my own little menagerie

will be going swimming this evening- went on wednesday and saying the water is cold is an understatement- it is so quiet at the forty foot now- all the summer lightweights have gone

today is the lovely brendans birthday- unfortunately he has a cold so is not feeling the best
he might feel better tomorrow as he is being taken out by a lovely woman to a fantastic restaurant- lucky him!

just filled in a survey for ireland's top 100 companies- oh how i laughed- but i was truthful
some were- "do u plan on working here til u retire", "this place has special meaning, its not just a job"
I think we all know what i said

well back to the blog - this is for the HJs benefit so that they can peruse at their leisure- 4 months of leisure! not that i'm envious

anyway- got back to Dublin last Wednesday after spending chilled quality time at home with family and dogs

joyful reunion with himself who had made an effort to tidy the place after 4 days of debauched living without the girlfriend- he lived on noodles and toast even though there was food provided

Thursday was shopping day- went into town early and forced myself to totally relax and not rush around tiring my self out- got the most comfy trackie bottoms (navy with 2 vertical light blue stripes) in marks ( have been living in them all weekend- Brendan pleading with me to take them off but not for the normal reason he wants clothes taken off)
also got stretch jeans in marks (indigo), 2 tops in Wallis (black and aubergine) and a red shirt in debenhams- felt like I spent more but thankfully didn't
am all set for winter but it seems to have gone into an Indian summer of 22 degrees on average- will it never end- am definitely a winter person- would not object to emigrating to Iceland

anyway also did lots of walking to counter the lots of eating- Chinese was had on Friday
on Friday I made walnut, oat and choc chip cookies- turned out rather well but need to buy new electric whisk before any more baking is done- as one I had spattered everything until I just used one twirly bit and then that took an age to whisk
I am my mothers daughter

Sunday went to carlingford - it was lovely- apart from coming back when we got caught in the middle of the Kilkenny and cork supporters going home- felt like smashing in a few heads

now back in work and kinda glad- felt I was off for ages- this will wear off no doubt as spent most of the day doing Farsi

that's it for now- love to all who read

have realised that Monday was Bastille day- am disgusted for not remembering- sorry to all french people cos i know ye are going through a hard time lately - let me just say think before u act or ouvrer la bouche- ditto all germans and italians
hello sweeties (mmm sweeties...) time i started this again- i keep not writing in it cos i get my best thoughts at night and then cant rem what i was on about the next day or i'm not as eloquent as demonstrated today.

less than 3 days to my 2 week hols- which again will mean that no new little news will be added in that time

fear not- as the few people who do read this will be contacted in a more old fashioned manner

i hate global warming- i dont want ireland to turn into the rust bucket that sourthern europe is currently
although it does mean we wont have to pay for a little bit of sunshine each year
thats what we're doing this year-staying at home that is- much more convenient in terms of accomaodation, packing food etc
i am becoming more conscious overall at spending money on irish products
was in iceland- the store not the country- yesterday and the dearth of irish products was unbelievable- i felt i was abroad cos of the range of goods i hadnt seen before cos everything comes from Britain- they were very tempting but i didnt buy anything as i was just accompanying soembody else
